When I was first dipped my toe into the world of energy healing, I was intimidated by the practitioners. They were kind and compassionate, but the mystery surrounding their work really had me tongue-tied.
So, I’d like to offer my prospective and existing clients a glimpse into my life. I’ve thought up a few questions to help you get to know me better.
If you can think of anything I’ve missed or your curious about…get in touch!
The Interview: Get to know more about Andrea Wood
What’s your favourite sport?
I adore alpine skiing and ski touring. My goal is to ski on every continent, to explore all the glacial formations I possibly can on foot, and celebrate the majesty of winter each year of my life.
What’s your favourite spare time activity?
It’s a toss-up between hiking with my Springer Spaniel and reading books. I connect with nature and people when out with the dog, and learn so much when reading.
What’s your spirit animal?
I work with a few power animals. I really identify with snakes and owls at the moment. Snakes are a reflection of the feminine essence; super flowy and subtle. Owls see everything; they move powerfully and have keen analytical senses.
What 3 items would you wish for if stranded on a desert island?
1. Waterproof Poncho: so I can limit my exposure to the sun, keep warm at night and dry when it rains.
2. Water filter: so I can desalinate and cleanse the water surrounding the island when I need to drink.
3. Genie’s lamp: So I can wish for company when I get lonely. Or if I want to leave the dang island 😉
What are you passionate about?
Slowing climate change. I am a massive nature lover, and advocate for adventure sports. I want to do whatever I can to ensure future generations can enjoy the beauty and splendour of the great outdoors. That means making choices that require thought and attention to sustainability and long-term impact.
If you won the lottery what would you do?
– Build a rammed earth house
– Buy an electric car
– Create an education fund for my nephews
– Ensure my Dad and Stepmum have an amazing and loving retirement experience
– Found an organization to impact climate change
– Travel globally in a carbon neutral fashion
If you could travel anywhere where would you go and why?
I’d go to the North Island of Japan (Hokkaido) on the snowiest day of the year. I’d ski in champagne powder up to my ribs all day, relax in an onsen at night and replenish with heaps of miso soup.
What are 3 words that describe you?
What’s your favourite book and why?
Ernest Hemingway’s The Old Man and the Sea. I found a copy in grade 9 and read it in a single sitting. I loved the simple, beautiful depiction of the characters and their struggles. It’s so raw and moving. I can read it over and over again and always feel touched. It’s also a poignant reminder of how I thought as a 14-year-old and how I think as an adult.
(I’m also passionate about supporting local booksellers. For long as I’ve been able to read, there’s nothing been quite so magical as browsing the local bookstore!)
